We recognized some of our local Female First Responders & Veterans on International Women’s Day.

We remain committed to honoring those beloved patriots who have served our country, we do this through our Weekly food order deliveries, Easter Baskets Drive, to Seniors & Veterans, Basic Supplies for Seniors collection & delivery and Fundraisers.

Our Annual fundraising continues to raise for meals for the 911 Center in 2020 and 2021.

These are the faces of some of the angels behind the phone lines when you call 911 in Orange County, New York. Hugs for Courage volunteers & supporters helped sponsor events to honor our Dispatchers during National Public Safety Communications Week!

In order to memorialize the loss of the country’s servicemen and women, Hugs for Courage asked all residents to embrace the Yellow Ribbon Project. Hugs for Courage sold Yellow Ribbons to be placed throughout the town, Village, and Warwick’s hamlets. The proceeds raised from each ribbon launched the official start of fundraising to secure a home center for the VFW Post #4662, with the intention of all Veterans and First Responders patrons to receive therapy and counseling as needed to treat issues such as PTSD.

In September 2020, when the 9/11 Tribute Center had to close due to government regulations, we sparked the idea and worked closely with Orange County authorities in short order to coordinate two blue beams to shine from the 911 Emergency Center in Goshen, as the county’s own 9/11 tribute. The lights were seen throughout the county, as citizens regularly visited to pay their respects to those fallen.
