Hugs for Courage recently distributed over 400 prepackaged BBQ lunches donated by Stephen Kitar, owner of Sam’s Meat Warehouse, to senior citizens as a symbol of gratitude for being key members of the community.

Hugs For Courage Holds Successful Fundraiser Golf Outing
Hugs for Courage recently hosted their 1st Annual Frontline Warrior Golf Open at Hickory Hill Golf Course to honor, benefit and celebrate Warwick’s Veterans, Active Military and First Responders. The event, exclusive to Frontline Warriors, sponsored a total of 52 golfers. The course was lined with smiles and laughter as these brave men and women enjoyed a day to escape the stress that often accompanies both paid and volunteer positions in these chosen fields.

Spreading Easter Cheer From A Distance
Hugs for Courage reached out to the community via Facebook earlier in the week, allowing Warwick parents the option to request a drive-by to their house. Using a mapping application to route all of the addresses, the Bunny’s small parade of decorated vehicles played music and streamed live on Facebook throughout the day, so that parents would know when Easter Bunny was on his way.

Program To Assist Veterans, First Responders
Guest speakers Carmela Borrazas from Hugs for Courage & VFW Commander John MacDonald spoke to Warwick Valley Rotarians about a new program being organized to assist Warwick veterans & first responders with counseling & therapy treatment for those struggling with mental illness & PTSD.
